"FROM YEGHISHE TO YEGHISHE" WITH HRANT TAMRAZYAN'S EYES
"FROM YEGHISHE TO YEGHISHE" WITH HRANT TAMRAZYAN'S EYES
There is no any scientific degree in Armenia that well-known literary critic Hrant Tamrazyan has not ever been granted.

An outstanding person in the sphere of literature, holder of state prizes of Armenia, Doctor of Philology, Professor, YSU lecturer of many years, founder-head of the Chair of Modern Armenian Literature, Academician of NAS of RA Hrant Tmrazyans 80th anniversary was celebrated with great luxury at the Faculty of Philology of Yerevan State University. A conference dedicated to Hrant Tamrazyan, which will last for 3 days, started on the 17th of October. He is the author of 45 books, 400 scientific articles and a number of methodological books for schools and HEIs.

He has struggled for criticism in literature and real aesthetic values. This person was the first to organize Readings on Charents conference, which later was published in 7 volumes. He has broken the existing stereotypes in literature of that time and studied the Armenian literature From Yeghishe to Yeghishe. He was a different kind of person because he had a deep knowledge of any material and had skills of aesthetic analyze.

He was full of life since the very childhood and till the last beat of his heart. He used to evaluate the truth and aesthetic values, - said Artsrun Avagyan, Dean of the Faculty of Philology.

Hrant Tamrazyan was born in 1926 in the village Achajur in Tavoush region. In 1943 he entered the Faculty of Philology of YSU. There is no surprise that just he, who used to read newspapers and letters of relatives aloud, occurred to be brave enough to separate from others and save the forbidden books by Charents and Aksel Bakunts, - said Samvel Mouradyan, Professor, Doctor of Philology. He had brought these books to Yerevan and read and discussed them secretly with his best friends of student years Paruyr Sevak, Vahagn Davtyan, Edward Jrbashyan and others.

His relatives and friends talked not only about his scientific merits, but also about him as a person. Academician Hovhannes Barseghyan said that Hrant Tamrazyan was a very generous man: he could spend his entire fee just in a day to publish a new book or give it to a stranger.
