The Olympiad is two years old and is organized by YSU Pre-university Education Department. 2010 Olympiad was two-staged - February 16 (Gyumri) and February 20 (Yerevan).
1202 pupils from more than 100 schools participated in 2010 Olympiad, held in 14 subjects. 200 of them were awarded different prizes. 21 prize holders were awarded 1st rate prizes, 33 pupils - 2nd rate and 40 participants - 3rd rate. 106 contestants received certificates.
I was thinking to myself, having accomplished the tasks, I would receive 2nd or 3rd rate prize, but not the 1st one. I am too glad and inspired, especially that I have won on the contest, held by YSU, as I would like to enter this HEI, - said Yerevan Quant College 11th form pupil Alexander Chatrchyan.
Children also received books about YSU and everything connected with this HEI.
The most activeness in 2010 contest was shown in mathematics (185 participants), English language (183 contestants) and Armenian language and literature (175). Greater part of the 1st rate diplomas was distributed among the participants in Physics contest (3). As for the Artistic Thought contest, here no winner was registered.

The winter school "Armenia in the regional and global context" organized by the initiative of Yerevan State University and Paris "SciencesPo" University has been launched, in which 20 university students participate.

The monograph of Dr. Sc. (Phys-Math) Professor Yuri Movsisyan, Honorary Head of the YSU Algebra and Geometry Chair and President of the Armenian Mathematical Union (AMU), entitled "Hyperidentities: Boolean and De Morgan Structures" was published in English by World Scientific Publishing.
