The program “Armenian Artists Worldwide” was launched by YSU Cultural Centre several months ago. It is dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide. The program aims to present the life and activities of famous Armenians who live in different countries of the world. This is also some kind of an expression of gratitude to all those countries which have once given shelter to the Genocide survivors and supported them in their further development.
This time students expressed their appreciation to Italy and Italians. The event was attended by the Italian Ambassador Giovanni Ricciulli, YSU Vice-rector on Students, Alumni and Public Relations Ruben Markosyan, management of the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology, students, lecturers and others.
Members of Cultural Centre presented Italian songs, music, dances and spoke about the Armenian figures who have lived and worked in Italy in different periods of history.
“The countries that have given refuge to our compatriots after the genocide have provided them with the opportunity to create. This event is our special gratitude to those countries,” - said YSU Vice-rector on Students, Alumni and Public Relations Ruben Markosyan.
