THE GENERATION OF INDEPENDENCE HAS CHOSEN THE LANGUAGE OF ART
A festival for young artists, devoted to the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s independence, kicked off at YSU Cultural Centre today.

The contest-festival “The Voice of the Generation of Independence” (September 20-25) is organized by YSU Cultural Centre and Administration. It includes a number of events, as well as lectures.

During the opening ceremony Director of YSU Cultural Centre Karine Davtyan noted: “I think that the generation of independence has already raised its voice and should be active in all spheres, including cultural life.”

YSU Vice-rector on Students, Alumni and Public Relations Ruben Markosyan stressed on the importance of this idea, noting that it has a tendency to evaluate and promote young artists’ initiatives: “I hope that this event will become a tradition and will receive the format of the International Student Cultural Festival during the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the university.”

The event was also attended by artists, musicians and others. The newly formed orchestra (conducted by Armen Ayvazyan) of YSU Cultural Centre also performed during the opening ceremony.
