YSU IS THE BEST IN INTER- UNIVERSITY COMPETITION
The teams of YSU and French universities in Armenia were recognized as winners in the final of the interuniversity moot court dedicated to the issues of criminal law and criminal proceedings, initiated by YSU Faculty of Law and the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ).

As we have already informed, yesterday the oral round of the interuniversity moot court dedicated to criminal and judicial issues, which has been held since 2016, took place, based on the results of which the teams of "YSU-2" and "De Facto Force" representing the French University in Armenia met today.

In the final moot court, the "YSU-2" team acted as a defense, and the "De Facto Force" as an accuser.

 

During the game, the parties made speeches, motions, accusatory and defensive positions and remarks on the hypothetical case.

In addition, the finalists answered questions about the case.

 

The "YSU-2" team, under the coaching of Sergey Marabyan, Associate Professor of the Chair of Criminal Procedure and Criminology, represented Khaluhi Movsisyan, Mane Safaryan, a first-year master student at the Faculty of Law, and Seryozha, a fourth-year undergraduate student.

Summing up the results of the moot court competition, YSU Dean of YSU Faculty of Law Gagik Ghazinyan noted that the traditionally organized event is one of the best examples of cooperation with the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ), which is very popular among Armenian universities.

According to him, it is not accidental that regardless of the situation, representatives of many Armenian universities take part in this moot court, which provides serious experience, new knowledge and practical skills, and as a result of which mutual relations are formed between students of different universities.

 

At the end of the event, Nelli Tumasyan, Program Coordinator of the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation in Armenia, and Anna Margaryan, Professor at YSU Faculty of Law, mentioned the readiness for effective cooperation between the two institutions and their readiness to meet for the 7th time in a year. within the framework of the moot-competition.
