A NEW STAGE OF COOPERATION BETWEEN HEI AND ENTERPRISES
The project “The role of leadership in career building: HEI enterprise cooperation in a new format” came to its finish line today.

The two-month course was organized by YSU Alumni and Career Centre in the frames of cooperation with “Beeline Armenia”, “Rosgosstrakh” and “HSBC Bank Armenia”. The project aims to strengthen university-enterprise cooperation with partner organizations, as well as give students the opportunity to gain knowledge in various fields.


About 400 students and graduates from different faculties had shown willingness to participate to participate in this pilot program, but only 90 got the opportunity to attend it and then pass a trial period at these companies. These courses had different orientation, beginning with the success formula up to business secrets.


YSU Vice-rector on Students, Alumni and Public Relations Ruben Markosyan summed up the effectiveness of the program and linking it with the activities of Alumni and Career Centre, said that through this long-term training an attempt was made to provide students with the information related to the labor market and employers’ requirements: “Cooperation between the universities and enterprises have developed significantly, as this program provided several dozen students with internship opportunities.”


Representatives of the partner organizations presented their visions in details, the characteristics of the labor market, and also stressed on the effectiveness of the program, next steps students should take and so on.


Lusine Gevorgyan, head of the department of personnel recruitment of “Rosgosstrakh Armenia” highlighted the effectiveness of the program and expressed hope that soon it will become a tradition: “In this context we have gone a few steps forward. I want to express my gratitude to the students for their active participation. Indeed, my expectations were justified, and it shows that further cooperation will be on a higher level.”


Deputy Director of YSU Alumni and Career Centre Karine Nazaryan also stated about the successful implementation of the project, as students really showed interest in it: “Our employers also positively assessed the progress of students in vocational training and career-oriented courses. The results are already visible, as the participating students and alumni had the opportunity to work and to participate in various training programs.”


In the end of the event the participants were given certificates of participation, which were conferred by the representatives of the above mentioned partner companies.
