GRADUATES OF THE FACULTY OF SOCIOLOGY ORGANIZED CONFERENCE TITLED "SOCIOLOGICAL BASES OF PUBLIC POLICY IN ARMENIA".
GRADUATES OF THE FACULTY OF SOCIOLOGY ORGANIZED CONFERENCE TITLED "SOCIOLOGICAL BASES OF PUBLIC POLICY IN ARMENIA".
Graduates of the Faculty of Sociology together with Konrad Adenauer Foundation organized a conference titled "Sociological Basis of Public Policy in Armenia".

This conference was dedicated  to the 100th anniversary of YSU.

 

Dean of the Faculty of Sociology Arthur Mkrtichyan told us about the purposes, participants and results of the conference.

He said, that they thought about the idea of organizing a conference about half a year ago, when some of graduates took part in conference like this.

 

They decided to organize a conference, and the faculty assisted them.

Conrad Adenauer Foundation supported the conference financially.

The main idea of the conference was to support the evidence-based practice.

“For different international organizations it is very important to make evidence-based public policy decisions and implementation. This conference was dedicated to highlighting and revealing this problem in the Armenian context” said the dean.

Talking about the results of the conference Mr. Mkrtchyan said, that it was adopted a Declaration on the Establishment of the Alumni Network of the Faculty of Sociology.

The present graduates created a network that should become a platform to share and generate professional knowledge.

STATEMENT OF YEREVAN STATE UNIVERSITY  ADDRESSED TO INTERNATIONAL PARTNERS REGARDING THE SITUATION CREATED AS A RESULT OF THE BLOCKADE IMPOSED ON THE LACHIN CORRIDOR
Since the morning of December 12th, a group of Azerbaijani civilians disguised as environmentalists have imposed a blockade on the Goris-Stepanakert highway (the Lachin Corridor) which is currently the only route linking Nagorno-Karabakh to the outside world. On top of that, during bitterly cold winter Azerbaijan had shut off natural gas supplies leaving the civilians in the territory without heating for 75 hours.

YSU rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, along with Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of RA Karen Trchunyan, hosted the delegation headed by Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission. For his activity and significant contribution to increasing inter-university bonds, the rector handed a certificate of gratitude to Myasnikovich.
