OFFICERS-PSYCHOLOGISTS WERE TRAINED AT YSU
More than 30 officers-psychologists of the RA Ministry of Defense have passed professional training at YSU. This initiative ended today with a scientific conference.

This program is conducted by YSU Postgraduate Additional Education Department, which since 2010 has been cooperating with the Ministry of Defense. Nearly 1,000 military and civilian employees of the Defense Ministry have been trained at YSU up now in the frames of various projects.

The training was held on May 14-26 and was conducted by the lecturers of the faculties of Philosophy and Psychology, Sociology and Journalism, as well as invited experts from Yerevan State Medical University and other educational institutions. The topics were diverse: military psychology, personality and military service, military personnel psychology, psychological accompaniment, overall performance of psychological warfare and so on.

The organizers of this project had decided to sum up the initiative with a conference, which was headed “Ways improving the tension and general load of the personnel of the military units which carries out its duty on the frontline”.

“We are pleased to note that the training program for officers-psychologists, which was held last year in Artsakh, found its sustainable development. I hope it will be continuous in its nature, making the Armenian soldier stronger,” - noted YSU Vice-rector on Students, Alumni and Public Relations Ruben Markosyan in his welcoming remarks, calling on the participants of the training to cooperate with YSU permanently.

Deputy Chief of the General Headquarters of the RA Armed Forces, Major General Onik Gasparyan says various reports and speeches raised very important issues for the army: “I hope this training will give impetus our soldiers for the development of professional skills and the nation-army ties will become stronger.”

The reports were made by the experts who had conducted the training for the officers-psychologists.

“We have a priority issue that is to develop “Military Psychology” science, and we need to do serious researches in this area. If we could adapt the foreign experience in civil fields, in this case we cannot directly bring their experience into our reality,” - says the Head of the Chair of General Psychology Hrant Avanesyan.

In the end of the conference officers received certificates. The parties began making arrangements for the implementation of the next training.
