BIOLOGY IS THE 21ST CENTURY SCIENCE
BIOLOGY IS THE 21ST CENTURY SCIENCE
First Three-day Biological Student International Conference started in YSU today.

More than 100 students from Armenian and abroad participate in the conference, dedicated to Alma Mater 90 and 75th anniversary of YSU Faculty of Biology foundation. It was organized by YSU, Faculty of Biology, YSU SSS and Association of Young Biologists NGO. The organizing staff was formed generally by students (head Hovakim Zakaryan) and the members of scientific committee were the leading representatives of this field (head - NAS RA Associate member Emil Gevorgyan). The conference was sponsored by Devout Generation Foundation and YSU Trade Union.

The conference is a very executive and important one. This will provide the young scientists with a possibility to communicate and establish relations. Often PHD students of the same area are not aware of the colleagues activities. This is an excellent opportunity for experience exchange, especially in the field of Biology, which is the science of 21st century, - said Dean of the faculty Emil Gevorgyan.

Because of the lack of financial means Armenia did not manage to provide the arrival of foreign guests. But their theses are published in a Compilation of Theses, so they participate by correspondence. Though these articles will not be read during the conference, the compilations will be distributed among all our participants and the authors will get them, too.

Oral and stand reports are expected. The difference is that in second case the speakers present their works on special stands, as it is during the international conferences. Such reports are 27. If the reader has any questions he can ask the author during the break.

The participants from Armenia are YSU, NAS institutes, ASUE, ASAA, RAU, AUA. Foreign participants represent Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, Bashkortostan and Karakalpakstan HEI.

SSS Head of this faculty Hovakim Zakaryan signifies the role of conference in student life: The academic activities are required in the educational process. Such conferences provide them with the opportunity to present their scientific works, which is not less important than publication in different journals.

In the end of each working day the best work will be decided by the audience. Special papers are distributed among the participants for this goal. By the way, the participants have not right to vote.
