For the past 9 years, secular and spiritual educational organizations have been organizing this event together.

The event started with the Lord’s Prayer, followed by the anthems of the Republic of Armenia and the Gevorgyan Theological Seminary.
“This day gives us the opportunity to re-estimate the merits of Vardanants martyrs. Thanks to our heroic history, we are more self-confident and more experienced to meet today’s many challenges and temptations,” – noted lecturer at the seminary, Archimandrite Garegin Hambardzumyan in his welcoming remarks.
YSU Vice-rector Ruben Markosyan also made a welcoming speech and stated that this event has already turned into a beautiful tradition: “The moral victory won by the blood of martyrs in the Battle of Vardanants is a symbol of our nation’s identity. It has sanctified the national, religious life and morale of our people.”
“I am sure that today we also have new heroes at our and all other Armenian universities. Many of them have passed through the April four-day war, many of whom are currently on duty in the Armenian Armed Forces,” - said Mr. Markosyan.
Head of the Chair of History of the Neighboring Countries of YSU Faculty of History Hayrapet Margaryan delivered a lecture and the artistic part was provided by the members of YSU Cultural Centre, Gevorgyan Theological Seminary and Yerevan State Conservatory.
