SECOND STAGE OF YSU OLYMPIAD
SECOND STAGE OF YSU OLYMPIAD
The winners of the first round of the annual Olympiad of schoolchildren organized by YSU Pre-University Education Department tested their knowledge in the second round.

According to the results of the first round, 2186 pupils took part in YSU Olympiad, 486 of them continue to compete in the second round. The pupils are trying their best in competitions on 13 general subjects (mathematics, physics, chemistry, informatics, biology, geography, history of Armenian people, Armenian language and literature, Russian, English, German, French, creative work).

According to Vachagan Galstyan, Head of YSU Pre-University Education Department, such diversity is conditioned by the specialties that the education is being implemented at YSU.

"The goal of the Olympiad, which has been held for the tenth year in a row, is an attempt to test ppils' knowledge before the examinations. Besides, we want to find smart students and guide them to the university," - Vachagan Galstyan told us.

For two years YSU Olympiad has been held in two stages. This year we have included 11th grade pupils to participate in the Olympiad, due to the lack of graduating children.

Let us remind that according to the decision of YSU Academic Council, children who take 1st-3rd places in the second round of the Olympiad will receive a 50%, 40% and 30% tuition fee discount if they enter YSU.
