YSU DELEGATION VISITED CHINA
From October 23 to November 3, YSU delegation was in Beijing, Dalian and Shanghai in the framework of the program “Visit of Heads of Armenian Educational Institutions to China”.

The delegation was headed by Dean of YSU Faculty of International Relations Gegham Petrosyan. The delegation was composed of Arthur Israelyan, Head of the Center for Chinese Language and Culture at Yerevan State University and eight directors of schools from Yerevan and regions.


In Beijing, Sergey Manasaryan, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to China received our delegation and presented the process of Armenian-Chinese diplomatic relations, history of the embassy, spoke about the Armenian students studying in China, the Armenians living in the country and the new geopolitical situation.


YSU Delegation, at Dalian University of Foreign Languages, met with University Rector Liu Hoon, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Sun Yuhihua, Head of International Department Lee Faan and Confucius Institute CEO Chen Chzicao.


During the meeting the sides discussed the cooperation framework and reiterated the readiness of the parties to deepen the relations.


Within the framework of the visit YSU and Dalyan University of Foreign Languages signed a cooperation agreement, which stipulates collaboration in educational, scientific spheres, holding joint events, implementation of student exchange programs, participation in scientific programs.


The Armenian delegation also visited opened in 2015 Center for Armenian Studies, which was established within the framework of cooperation between Yerevan State Linguistic University after L. Bryusov and Dalian Foreign Languages University, got acquainted with its activities and met with the Armenian students studying at the university.

STATEMENT OF YEREVAN STATE UNIVERSITY  ADDRESSED TO INTERNATIONAL PARTNERS REGARDING THE SITUATION CREATED AS A RESULT OF THE BLOCKADE IMPOSED ON THE LACHIN CORRIDOR
Since the morning of December 12th, a group of Azerbaijani civilians disguised as environmentalists have imposed a blockade on the Goris-Stepanakert highway (the Lachin Corridor) which is currently the only route linking Nagorno-Karabakh to the outside world. On top of that, during bitterly cold winter Azerbaijan had shut off natural gas supplies leaving the civilians in the territory without heating for 75 hours.

A meeting with Armenian composer, People's Artist of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Mansuryan took place at YSU Charles Aznavour Culture Center, during which university rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan presented the maestro with YSU gold medal.
