A Jubilee matinee was at YSU Hall after Charents today. YSU Faculty of Journalism Dean Naghash Martirosyan initiated event was organized by the faculties of Armenian Philology, Oriental Studies and Journalism.
The event began with photo exhibition. The photos depicting famous writers different years of life were the commented by writers daughter Nvard Kochar. The event was also attended by YSU Rector Aram Simonyan. Human memory is not an inexhaustible supply, and over time many things are left out of that supply. Hrachya Kochar publicistic works and literature is the informational material that remains forever in memory of a human, who has once read Kochar, - said Aram Simonyan.
According to the event format it was a bunch of speeches devoted to the hero of the day. University lecturers, people who used to be familiar with him, had responded to the invitation. Interesting episodes from Kochars life were recalled by his good friend Avetik Isahakyans grandson Avik Isahakyan and Hovhanes Tumanyans granddaughter Irma Safrazbekyan.
The streets of Yerevan are somehow empty after Kochar, our town is missing his wisdom. I would like our young people become Kochars successors, heirs of Kochar publicist, writer and Kochar Armenian man, - noted in his speech President of the RA Journalists Union Astghik Gevorgyan.
During the matinee reports were made about Kochars life and works by lecturer Knarik Mirzoyan, representing YSU Faculty of Oriental Studies and Dean of the Faculty of Armenian Philology Artsrun Avagyan.
At the end of the meeting Naghash Martirosyan offered to gather in this hall 10 years later to celebrate Hrachya Kochars 110th anniversary.
