AN OUTSTANDING ART DIRECTOR IN YSU
AN OUTSTANDING ART DIRECTOR IN YSU
"I am glad to visit my motherland again. I am Armenian with my roots and spirit, so I had to visit Alma Mater. Also, this educational institution is a very memorable to me, as my grandfather and mother used to be lecturers here".

An outstanding Armenian art director Georgy Isahakyan, who has arrived in Armenia to produce the opera of Al. Spendiaryan Almast, visited our studentship today. The initiation was sent to him by YSU Cultural Center.

The atmosphere of the meeting was an excellent one. First Geogry Isahakyan presented some facts from his biography and then told our students about some interesting episodes from his professional activities.

Mr. Isahakyan was born in Yerevan. The education he received in this town, too. But having no possibilities to develop activities in Armenia, he accepted the offer by the Perm State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater to work as a producer: I was very insulted first. The topic of my Diploma paper was Anush, and after the excellent defense of the thesis I thought I could develop activities in the direction of our Opera development. But, finally, I appeared in Perm, and I do not regret, as all my achievements are connected with this town, - he said.

By the way, by the order of the RF President for the great merits in the area of development of theatrical activities Mr. Isahakyan was awarded the title of Honored Art Worker of Russian Federation in 2007. And in 2008 for the producing of opera by K. Monteverdi Orpheus the newspaper Culture recognized him as a Director of the year. He is a state prize holder of the RF.

He has produced a number of well-known works, such as Anush (A. Tigranyan), Three faces of love (S. Prokofiev), Queen of Spades (P. Tchaikovsky), Otello, (G. Verdi), Boheme (G. Puccini), Noahs Ark (B. Britten), Mermaid (A, Dvorzhak), etc.

Our guest signifies the meetings with youth. He said: The scene of the country has got nothing to do here, I consider it important to communicate with youth, as youth is our audience, so, I am very glad to meet with You.

Students asked the questions they were interested in to our guest, and in the end of the meeting YUS Cultural Center Chorus performed for Mr. Isahakyan songs Kalinka and Moscow Nights.
