STEPS OF YSU CENTRAL BUILDING ARE BEING RESTORED
The restoration of steps of YSU central building will over on September 10. As the builders make sure, the steps will long serve for the university. They guarantee 100 years.

The rector of YSU Aram Simonyan noted that it was uncomfortable to receive guests and accompany having such steps. The stones were moving, the distance between them grew a lot, it was uncomfortable not only for the guests invited from abroad, but also for our intellectuals and officials.

In reality, the restoration of steps of YSU wasnt end in itself. Except the fact, that we shall get aesthetical pleasure by entering the central building of YSU, we shall also feel secure and safe. It turns out that 640 electric power station which gives energy to YSU was under those steps. 6000 high-voltage, also low-voltage panels, 2 engines of 750 kva power, ventilation system were under those steps, said the chief specialist in energetics of YSU Vahan Engidunyan.

Concrete cover, on which were the stony steps, decomposed long ago, and rain-water, thaw of snow got to the high-voltage substation. There were short junctions and fortunately it didnt become to a fire, says the chief of anti-flammable service Vachagan Srapyan.

For avoiding from such annoyances on July 16 the restoration of steps of YSU central building began. 2 layers of izogam were put on 25-30sm concrete cover, then 4sm concrete layer and then only the best qualified stone type Abovyan basalt, informed YSU chief engineer Armen Haroutyunyan.

Sizes of stones are the same as former, the lines of steps are 14 as former. No changes are foreseen from shape and style. There will not be inclined landings for invalids. Armen Harioutyunyan explained, For building inclined landings we need 12 degree inclination, but our steps are big, its 36. It is impossible to think about inclined landings in such conditions.
