THE PRESIDENT OF MEJLIS OF THE RII IN ALMA MATER
The friendship of Armenians and Iranians is like a tree, whose roots are in depth, and the height and leaves are in our eyes today.

The Mejlis president of Iranian Islamic Republic Kholam Ali Hadded Adel was the guest of YSU on September 12. You are the first official guest of new educational year and this circumstance makes Your visit more important. There is no doubt that it is important for you as a scientific visit to the main scientific-educational hearth of the country, during his speech mentioned the rector of YSU professor Aram Simonyan.

During last years more important conditions were created for the relations of Armenia and Iran. The relations became more intensive in scientific-educational sphere. The presence of Iranian Students, also the Armenian students who wish to continue their education in Iran are proof for this occasion. The teaching of Iranology and Persian language and literature are on serious basis in Yerevan State University, where Iranian scientists and professors of Persian language gave respect to this.

There are 10 churches, 22 Armenian schools, many cultural and scientific centers in Tehran. According Mister Hadded Adel words it is a perfect example in the world the relations of different religions. During his official visit to Armenia the president of Mejlis of Iranian Islamic Republic visited to Tsitsernakaberd.

Some students of Oriental faculty of YSU read some parts from Persian poets. In the end of the meeting the rector Aram Simonyan granted the president of Mejlis with golden medal, gave some books telling the history of Armenia, the president with golden medal, gave some books telling the history of Armenia, the president, in its turn, prepared some souvenirs as for the rector as for the Oriental faculty.
