In the framework of project YSU Rector Presents a meeting for YSU students with eminent actress, writer, translator, publicist Anahit Topchyan was organized today. She was invited by YSU Cultural Center. The following topics were in focus: modern literature, theater, mission of writer and actor, modern youth.
YSU Cultural Center Director Karine Davtyan expressed her gratitude to our guest for this visit and mentioned it was not the first time students had expressed their wish to organize meeting with such an outstanding personality, as she is. The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere.
The audience enjoyed a video film about A. Topchyans art, accompanied by her commentaries. Then students were provided with an opportunity to ask our guest different questions.
And the questions were of different content. She spoke about her career, issues faced, numerous roles in theater and cinema together with their meanings and national specifications of the spectators.
Today Anahit Topchyan presents our readers two books Mirror and LADI S. D. F.. It is difficult for her to explain the transition from cinema to literature: Most possibly it is an attempt to cover the lack of stage. If one is used to permanent creative activities, he/she must try to find something different. Though I was playing in my own Theater of One Actor, but it was not enough for me.
Today she lives and develops her activities in France. As for coming back to Armenia and Armenian theater and resettlement here, she said: The cultural atmosphere is a different one abroad. Their level has always been higher in all spheres. They have got traditions, special attitude towards the individual who creates something. And the one who has got individual way of thinking in Armenia is somehow distressed. We hate such people. You must be a slave and obey. I can not do so, and this was the general reason I left the theater. I always regretted I could not stay here. But I have not gone. I can say that only sometimes I go to Paris and not vice verse.

Since the morning of December 12th, a group of Azerbaijani civilians disguised as environmentalists have imposed a blockade on the Goris-Stepanakert highway (the Lachin Corridor) which is currently the only route linking Nagorno-Karabakh to the outside world. On top of that, during bitterly cold winter Azerbaijan had shut off natural gas supplies leaving the civilians in the territory without heating for 75 hours.

The simulation game-competition "National Assembly Model" organized by the Student Council of the Faculty of International Relations took place in the meeting hall of the YSU Academic Council, during which the student-deputies divided into three factions presented their plans for the development of Armenia. The game ended with the victory of the "Republican" party.
