The guide-book Quality Assurance Systems is the result of the joint work by 4 HEI of Armenia. The guidebook describes the main goals and objectives, characteristics, processes, and methodological principles of forming the system of internal quality assurance of higher education in accordance with the criteria and standards of the European Association for Quality Assurance.
Prior to the preparation of this manual many discussions were held in HEI, and each participant of these discussions can be considered as a coauthor of the manual,-said Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the RA Ara Avetisyan. YSU Vice-rector on Educational Affairs Alexander Grigoryan, who is one of the coauthors of the book, insists that the notions that the quality of HEI education system in Armenia is low, is an erroneous one. I was given a chance to participate in a scientific seminar in Kiev on the HEI management systems. The seminar was attended by representatives of 7 republics of the CIS, and I assure you that we are in no way inferior to the republics of the region,-said Alexander Grigoryan.
Yerevan State Engineering University is one of 4 coauthor universities. Rector of the university Vostanik Marukhyan believes the provision with technical base is required for technical HEI. This is also one of the guarantors for high quality education in HEI,-said Mr. Marukhyan.
The guide was developed and published owing to the financial assistance, provided by the Armenian office of the Open Society Institute Assistance Foundation, in the framework of the project Circular model of the internal quality assurance system on the example of interuniversity consortium. In addition to the above mentioned topics, the guide discusses the concepts and problems of introspection and self-evaluation of HEI educational structures.
