On this occasion a scientific conference Publicism of Hovhannes Tumanyan in parallels of time started today in YSU Hall after Yeghishe Charents.
The two-day conference devoted to the 140th anniversary of the great poet and 90th anniversary of Yerevan State University Foundation was organized by the initiative of Yerevan State University Faculty of Journalism and the Museum of H. Tumanyan. The initiative was supported by the RA Ministry of Culture.
The organizing committee was the following: RA Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan, Minister of Education and Science Spartak Seyranyan, YSU Rector Aram Simonyan, President of the Writers Union of Armenia Levon Ananyan, Chairman of the Union of Journalists Astghik Gevorgyan, Dean of the Faculty of Journalism Naghash Martirosyan, Director of the Museum of H. Tumanyan Narine Tukhikyan, etc.
We were looking forward for this event, as I am sure we are all happy that we have Tumanyan. He was among the writers, whose sharp words and images, created by him, accompany each person throughout his life. I would also like to point out proudly that Tumanyan is one of those rare people who, in the worst years for our nation, raised the issue of establishing a University. And today, we simply must reckon him to the founders of YSU, - said YSU Rector Aram Simonyan.
The reports were various and encompassing - from the poet and publicist. In particular, the reports were made by the Lecturer of YSU Faculty of Armenian Philology S. Mouradyan (Responses on the Armenian Genocide in the Publicism of H. Tumanyan), Dean of the Faculty of Journalism Naghash Martirosyan (Internal Enemy in the Perception of H. Tumanyan), lecturer of the Faculty Hrach Bayadyan (The Armenianism as an idea of a Modern Nation in Journalism of H. Tumanyan), lecturer of the Faculty of Russian Philology Ruzan Ter-Grigoryan (H. Tumanyan about Russia and Russian culture), etc.
During the break students of Yerevan State University Cultural Center presented a surprise for the conference participants and read some wonderful quatrains of poet.
The conference will continue tomorrow in the Museum of H. Tumanyan, where the reports will be made by the Museums director Narine Tukhikyan, Grigor Janikyan and Hamo Sukiasyan.
