Ambassador Raul de Luzenberger, the head of the Delegation of the European Commission to the Republic of Armenia completes mission in Armenia. The lecture, headed Eastern Partnership Summit: Development and Expectations was organized at YSU Center for European Studies.
The meeting, except for students of the Center for European Studies, was attended by lecturers, representatives of the EU delegation in Armenia and other international organizations.
Mr. Ambassador noted that the second summit of the Eastern Partnership, held in September in Warsaw, was aimed at strengthening cooperation between the EU and Eastern Europe and South Caucasus.
Speaking about the problems of our region, Raul de Luzenberger added that the development of the region is prevented by the unresolved conflicts in South Caucasus and the EU expects from the countries of the CIS diplomatic moves for a peaceful resolution of conflicts.
This summit was very productive for Armenia and in the near future we plan to submit for discussion the question of transition to a policy of visa-free regime in Armenia, - said Mr. Ambassador.
The speaker presented some of the European educational programs that will provide the Armenian students with the opportunities to continue their education in Europe.
At the end of the lecture Director of the Center for European Studies of Yerevan State University Arthur Ghazinyan noted that this was the last lecture, delivered by Mr. Ambassador, but universitarians hope that they will still meet with Raul de Lutzenberger, but already as a professor.
