THE INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION
THE INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION
Dean of the Faculty of Journalism of YSU Professor Garnik Ananyan was presented with an international award.

For the significant impact in accordance with internationally accepted standards of journalistic excellence in the sphere of Journalism in Armenia the award by International Center of Journalists of USA occurred to be a great surprise for Mr. Ananyan.

Owing to his unique and true efforts Garnik Ananyans contribution in the development of Journalism as a specialty is invaluable, - says Joyce Bornathan, President of International Center for Journalists.

I can only guess how they learnt about me in America. Armenian School for Journalism functions at our faculty, where generally American specialists are involved in the educational process. It seems to me that they have delivered the news, - mentioned Garnik Ananyan.

We were very glad to learn that the tutors invited from abroad are satisfied with our students of Magistracy. They say they never used to meet so much enthusiasm and devotion among the students worldwide.

According to Mr. Ananyan the international standards of Journalism are the following. I do not know whether anyone has ever accepted special criterions or not, but I can say how IHE can train specialists in accordance with the international standards: to have specialists who love and are aware of their field, educational plan and projects in accordance with modern demands, educational basis equipped with modern informational technologies, to provide the students with professional practical skills, which must always be used only together with the norms of the ethics for Journalists. This all will provide the faculty with an opportunity to train specialists in accordance with internationally accepted standards. I have to state that we consider very important the knowledge of foreign languages together with native.

So, what we used to do all this time is called the job which corresponds to the international standards, - says Garnik Ananyan. - This is the appreciation of the efforts of all our students and staff.
