NEW MASTER'S PROGRAMME IN HUMAN RIGHTS AND DEMOCRATIZATION
A new master's programme, which is the only one in the region, has been introduced at YSU.
The official inauguration of the Regional Masters Programme in Human Rights and Democratization was held today in the Hall of Sessions of YSU Academic Council. Project Director, Director of the Centre for European Studies, Arthur Ghazinyan presented students and guests the nature and process of the project, noting that the best tutors have been invited to conduct the educational process.

This year, 29 students will join the second class of the project. Among 95 applicants, a total 29 students have been admitted from Armenia, Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine, Russia, Georgia, Lithuania and Tajikistan.

We are very happy to meet you here. I think that the project is unique at our university, as it provides students from different countries with the opportunity to communicate with each other and establish strong ties. It is not only useful in an educational sense, but also gives chance to learn better each other, - said YSU Rector Aram Simonyan.

The programme is offered by four leading universities in the Eastern Partnership Region: YSU, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kiev, Belarusian State University, University of European Political and Economic Studies in Moldova.

After having completed the first year in Yerevan, based on their specialization preference, students continue their studies in one of the other partner universities.

This project is truly unique, and the European Union is proud to be able to perform it. We hope that the students from different countries, having completed their studies, will be able to contribute to the development of human rights and democratization in the European space, - said Traian Hristea, Head of the European Union Delegation to Armenia.

Launched in 2012 through a grant provided by the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights, the programme provides students with the opportunity to acquire knowledge and practical skills in the field of democratization and human rights and study in a multicultural environment. The lectures will be delivered by the best specialists in the field.
