15 days ago, it was the 50th anniversary of birth of our great patriot, an outstanding commander of the armed forces, national hero Vazgen Sargsyan. This event, we celebrate first of all for the younger generation, because students must learn lessons from people like Sparapet was, must learn to keep the memory of these devoted people. He fought for our freedom and the idea of living in an independent country, subordinating personal interests to the national,-said the Dean of the Faculty of History.
On the military path of great son of Armenian people, his huge role in building the army told a military comrade of Sparapet, Major-General Astvatsatur Petrosyan: The Armenian people has not seen many brilliant, strong-willed, devoted to Motherland, sustained and strong personalities. He was mighty in spirit, and despite the fact that his nerves were stretched the soul was so fragile and sensitive that used to give birth to love in everyone-love for his homeland, and the homeland for him was the most sacred. And, as he often liked to repeat, all people must fight for their country until the end.
After each speech Chorus Zorakan was performing songs dedicated to Sparapet.
During the event, students got the opportunity to ask the speakers questions, and in the end of the meeting the film Vazgen Sargsyan was shown.
