FIRST COURSE STUDENTS OF YSU SWORE AN OATH
It was the day of swear and honour of the first-course students of Yeravan State University on September 12. A concert-event took place in front of the central building of YSU.

For making more symbolic and particular the entrance of 2006 students of YSU, with the initiative of Vice-rector on Students, Alumni and Public Affairs Arsen Karamyan, and YSU rector professor Aram Simonyan took up for the realization of the program.

Aram Simonyan, the rector of YSU greeted the students after the performance and the foundation history of YSU. The leader of variety orchestra of television and radio Ervand Erznkyan and the leader of Komitas orchestra of Yerevan State Conservatory performed the hymn of YSU.

Two first course students were elected for reading the swear oath.

Then many famous and favorite singers as Ann Khachatryan, Arthur Ispiryan, Tatev Akhamiryan, Armen Darbinyan, Shushan Petrosyan greeted the students.

Light effects, interesting program and illumination were unprecedented in the history of Yerevan State University.

STATEMENT OF YEREVAN STATE UNIVERSITY  ADDRESSED TO INTERNATIONAL PARTNERS REGARDING THE SITUATION CREATED AS A RESULT OF THE BLOCKADE IMPOSED ON THE LACHIN CORRIDOR
Since the morning of December 12th, a group of Azerbaijani civilians disguised as environmentalists have imposed a blockade on the Goris-Stepanakert highway (the Lachin Corridor) which is currently the only route linking Nagorno-Karabakh to the outside world. On top of that, during bitterly cold winter Azerbaijan had shut off natural gas supplies leaving the civilians in the territory without heating for 75 hours.
YSU RECTOR MET THE CHAIRMAN OF THE EURASIAN ECONOMIC COMMISSION COUNCIL DELEGATION HEADED BY M. V. MYASNIKOVICH
YSU rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, along with Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of RA Karen Trchunyan, hosted the delegation headed by Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission. For his activity and significant contribution to increasing inter-university bonds, the rector handed a certificate of gratitude to Myasnikovich.
