In YSU Center for Applied Psychology various training programs in various areas of mental health are undertaken.

On the 7th of May, students who have passed training courses on basic techniques of art therapy in YSU Center for Applied Psychology, organized the exhibition, which presented their individual and group pictures, created during the course as well as household items, prepared from clay.

During the course of the basic techniques of art therapy specialist, through creative self-activation takes skills, of self-expression, learns how to identify his/her own inner emotions and feelings, which in its term contributes to personal development.

Center for Applied Psychology was opened in October 2008 and aims to provide with services in the area of consultation, to help the development of applied psychology in Armenia and quality improvement, improving the quality of special education for students-psychologists.

It is not a secret that the applied psychology is not so developed, and we need to provide specialists psychologists competent psychological care and practical knowledge. In our center training programs for the creation and development of theoretical and practical knowledge in various areas of mental health are conducted, - noted the Director of YSU Center for Applied Psychology David Gevorgyan.

David Gevorgyan said that the courses are conducted in groups of 8-10 people. Group consists of students specializing in psychology, professional psychologists, as well as professionals of related sciences, such as: doctors, students from the department of social work, etc.

Currently the following training courses are in realized: psychodynamic psychotherapy, peaceful therapy, creativity training, skills development, introspection, the basic techniques of art therapy, etc.

Training and consultancy work carried out by specialists and lecturers, who have the experience of teaching, psychological counseling and group work.

YSU Center for Applied Psychology also plans to conduct scientific research work in various fields of psychology, in particular: business, political psychology, psycho diagnostics, HR- and PR-management, etc.

"VISUAL COMPUTING" MASTER'S PROGRAM IS IMPLEMENTED IN YSU TOGETHER WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF ROSTOCK, GERMANY
In 2010, the first time in Armenia a joint double degree MS Program “Visual Computing” developed by the Faculty of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering of the University of Rostock, Germany and the Information Technologies Educational and Research Center of YSU has been launched. The development of the program has been completely supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
YSU SCIENTISTS MANUFACTURE A NANOSTRUCTURED SENSOR DETECTING LOW CONCENTRATIONS OF HYDROGEN
The Science Committee of MօESCS (Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports) RA (Republic of Armenia) has guaranteed funding for the scientific topic of "Preparation of a nanostructured sensor detecting low concentrations of hydrogen". We talked about the project with Mikael Aleksanyan, associate professor, head of YSU center of semiconductor devices and nanotechnologies.
