The film by Karen Gevorgyan Genocide without comments based on archival materials of Lepsius, including eyewitnesses of the Germans on the Armenian Genocide committed by Turkey in 1915, the eviction of Armenians, the extermination of the Armenian people, the detection of the dark pages of history.
The author of the idea of creating this movie and script Gagik Harutyunyan noted that the film entitled Genocide without comments is different from the documentary film genre, because it denies authorship of comments, with the aim to retain full neutrality. The idea of creating such film came when the Deputy Director of Museum of Genocide Stepan Stepanyan translated from German into Armenian factual book of the German journalist Wolfgang Gust on the genocide of Armenians, - added Gagik Harutyunyan.
In the film German journalist Wolfgang Gust presents in details living in Germany Armenian programmer Vagharshak Lalayan facts and letters, telling about the forced eviction of Armenians from the Armenian communities in Erzrum, Bitlis, Mush etc., carnage and heinous murders. The film also refers to those articles, decisions that have been discussed in the Bundestag, without mentioning, however, the word genocide.
The film Genocide without comments is available in German, Armenian and Russian versions. From the very beginning the film was shot in German, with the aim to open for the German audience the great historical truth: the true basis of the Armenian genocide and the importance of its recognition.
During the watching of the film students of faculties of Oriental Studies, International Relations, History and Law were present. After watching the students took part in the discussion of the film.
Student of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Hayk Khodzhagulyan is sure that more responses from the West are expected for this great film and many superpowers, suffering from the word genocide, will recognize the Armenian genocide.
The author and screenwriter for the film Gagik Harutyunyan is sure: it is time to make the history of arms in a good sense of the word.
