STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN SUBBOTNIK
March 23 and 24 are announced Subbotnik Days (voluntary, unpaid labor by citizens) by Yerevan City Hall. YSU students have also joined this initiative. This tradition has originated in Soviet era.
Our students started with the university area and its surroundings, making their contribution in the sanitary and cleaning work in our city.

YSU Vice-rector on Students, Alumni and Public Relations Ruben Markosyan is sure that here not only the sanitary and cleaning work, is important, but student participation in it. He says that via such initiatives our students become more active and responsible citizens.

YSU employee of more than 60 years, Gohar Gevorgyan, responsible for planting of greenery at YSU, says this initiative has a positive impact on our students, as it develops the sense of civic duty. She said that students have always supported the process of planting of greenery and its further maintenance, making stress on the contribution of YSU Student Council here.
