In the framework of the Yerevan International Tango Festival the ensemble Kadans will give concerts at a number of Armenian universities. The first was at YSU.
We really would like to see young people enjoying this fine art. Tango shapes good taste. Today people prefer various genres of music, and, so, one should be accustomed to high music and listen to such bands, - said Director of the Kadans Centre Nika Babayan.
The festival will be held in April. By this time, the ensemble will give concerts at the Music School after Tchaikovsky, State Pedagogical University of Armenia and Yerevan State Linguistic University.
I was very happy when we received an offer from Kadans. But my joy was short-lived, because we used all means to inform students, but very few people responded, - said the Director of YSU Cultural Centre Karine Davtyan.
Today universitarians enjoyed the works of the masters of Tango Astor Piazzolla and Richard Galliano, as well as Armenian composers, including Komitas.
The tango festival was founded in Yerevan in 2010. Founder of the festival Nika Babayan says that the basis for this was the development of the movement of tango in Armenia. The first guest of the festival was the famous accordionist, composer Richard Galliano.
This year the guests of the festival will be Argentine accordionist bandeneonist Walter Rios and his wife, singer Mariel Dyupetti. For the first time tango will be presented as a song, because originally it was a song, and then became instrumental music, and only then dance. We will see the origins of the tango, - promised Nika Babayan.
Concerts of Walter Rios and Mariel Dyuppetti with the ensemble Kadans will be held on 18 (Gyumri) and April 20 (in Yerevan, in the hall after Aram Khachaturyan).
