THE ALLURING SOUNDS OF TANGO AT YSU
The famous ensemble "Kadans" will be hosted at YSU.
The concert will take place on March 26 at 14:30 in the Big Hall of YSU Main Building (2nd floor) and is organized by YSU Cultural Centre.

In the framework of the International Tango Festival in Yerevan Kadans ensemble will give concerts at several HEI of Armenia. The launch will be given at YSU. Our students will enjoy the high art of Kadans.

The concert will be attended by YSU Rector, Vice-rectors, deans, professors and students. The entrance is free.

Kadans ensemble has been active beginning with 2004, having goal to perform the works by Argentinean composer Astor Piazolla (1921-1992). The members are: piano - Armen Babakhanyan, Hakob Jaghatspanyan - guitar, violin - Ashot Khoyetsyan, Gevorg Gasparyan - accordion, bandoneon, Lusine Hayrapetyan - double bass.

Shortly after 2004 the ensemble expanded its repertoire, including European, American, Russian classical and modern composers. They also make a focus on classical and pop works with new orchestration.

EVENT DEDICATED TO ALBERT MKRTCHYAN'S 85TH ANNIVERSARY AT YSU
An event dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the RA people's artist, director, screenwriter, and actor Albert Mkrtchyan took place at YSU Charles Aznavour Culture Center. In the framework of cooperation with the National Film Center of Armenia, the famous director's film "Happy Bus" was shown.
THE THREAT OF DESTRUCTION OF ARMENIAN CULTURAL HERITAGE IN NAGORNO-KARABAKH
From 15 to 19 July 2022, a conference on "The Cultural Heritage of Artsakh" was held at the Yerevan State University and the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Vayots Dzor/Armenia. More than 30 international scholars and experts discussed the origin, historical development and current threats to cultural heritage in the region of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh). These are part of the Armenian culture and, thus, amongst the oldest heritage of Christianity.
