Short description

The study of molecular interactions, structural and thermodynamic properties of aqueous and alcohol solutions of sulfur-containing compounds: dimethyl sulfone and its homologues is due to the important role of these compounds. The search of parameters of liquid-phase systems, effectively reflecting both features of intermolecular interactions and structural changes in the above mentioned solutions is an important scientific task. This project will deal with studies of structural and thermodynamic properties of mixtures of dimethyl sulfone and its homologues with water and alcohols by using the following methods: densitometry, tensiometry, calorimetry, infrared spectroscopy, dielectric relaxation spectroscopy, quantum chemical calculations. The integrated use of various experimental and theoretical research methods will provide a complete picture of the structural features of these solutions.
