ECONOMICS WAS THE SUMMER SCHOOL TOPIC
[13.07.10]
On July 2-9 YSU Delegation participated in the International Summer School on Economics in the Ukraine.
For YSU participants this was the third appearance at this prestigious summer school, held for the 15th time. This time our delegation was composed of three members (the previous two years participants number was16), but, anyway, the results were impressive.
Summer School was organized by Donetsk National University, and Svyatogorsk was chosen as venue, which impressed the participants especially with its beautiful nature. In general, representatives of more than 15 countries took part in the summer school (Bulgaria, USA, Egypt, Georgia, Latvia and others).
In 2010 the format of holding the school had changed a little and the topic-related reports were also presented. YSU reporter was Student Council Deputy Chairman Narek Melkonyan. His academic report, headed Mathematical modeling elements in the economy, was recognized as one of the best. This topic is rather new and, perhaps, that is the reason so many participants put stress on it. Many of them were not aware of the material, which I had studied, and tried to find out the sources with the held of mine,-says Narek Melkonyan.
By the way, the specialization in the area of economics was not the condition for participation, so YSU three participants represented different faculties: Harutyun Azgaldyan - Faculty of Economics, Narek Melkonyan, Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics, Alexander Sargsyan - Faculty of International Relations).
In addition to economic discussions and reports, participants organized national culture evenings, too. The Armenian evening was the most expected and the representatives of other countries had joined them in preparations.
