STUDENTS AGAINST ANY VILLAINY

28.04.12
Students demand from the OSCE the condemnation of the activities in Azerbaijan.
Today, at the initiative of YSU Student Council a protest action at the OSCE office in Yerevan was organized. The students demanded not to ignore the events that took place recently at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, hoping for the active mediation of the OSCE in the preservation of the ceasefire.
"As for me and also for all students it is very important to participate in such actions, as we once again prove that we are united and are always ready to fight together against any meanness. It is a matter of national scope, and it is very important," - said the future Turkologist Gore Avagyan, expressing the hope that the voice of the students will not be ignored by the staff of the OSCE Yerevan Office.
YSU Student Council Chairman Tsolak Akopyan noted that it is a warning protest; the action did not have a goal to attract many students.
"With this quick response to the situation at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, we decided to give the representatives of the OSCE Yerevan Office a letter. As a result, this action was organized with a small number of students. Not the quantity is important, but the solution of the problem. Every day the enemy's shots are heard, and residents of border villages are in danger. The OSCE Minsk Group has acquired the status of a mediator and should calm down the militaristic-minded actions of Azerbaijan," - said Tsolak Akopyan, adding that if the situation does not change, then the students will require the Armenian authorities to provide strong resistance to the enemy, because it cannot continue in this way.
Students gave the representative of the OSCE Office in Yerevan their letter, which called on the OSCE to justice. The representative of the OSCE Yerevan office assured students that their voice will be heard in the supreme instances and will not be ignored.
