YSU WILL HAVE A NEW COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT
The development and discussion of the new collective agreement of YSU started about a month ago.
According to the joint decision made by YSU Rector and President of Trade Union Organization a commission on the development of the draft of the new collective agreement was formed. First the collective agreement, signed between the Employer and Trade Union Organization was introduced in 2007, then in 2010, and now the new version of the collective agreement is under preparation.
The next session of the commission was held today. After the discussion of the final version of the draft it was decided to send it YSU faculties and structural subdivisions. In accordance with the requirements of the Labor Code of Armenia the collective agreement should be discussed and voted by the subdivisions. In a 10-day period they should organize staff meetings and discuss the draft of the collective agreement and submit the protocols of these meetings (including voting results) to the Trade Union Organization.
The Commission is composed of 6 members: vice-rectors Ruben Markosyan and Ararat Malkhasyan, Head of YSU Division on Juridical Affairs Armen Tadevosyan (they present employer), the other 3 represent YSU Trade Union Organization: Head of the Trade Union Bureau of the Faculty of Law Ashot Petrosyan, Head of the Trade Union Bureau of the Faculty of Pharmacology and Chemistry Razmik Mkhitaryan and Secretary of YSU Trade Union Organization Artashes Mamajanyan. The commission is chaired by Ruben Markosyan, the Secretary is Artashes Mamajanyan.
“The development of the draft of the agreement with the participation of all the members of the commission has passed several stages. All the comments and suggestions are taken into consideration and included in the draft. Rector Aram Simonyan and President of YSU Trade Union Organization Armen Avetisyan also presented their suggestions and comments, which also have been included in the draft,” - said Ruben Markosyan during the session.
Having summed up the results of the votes of the members of staff of the subdivisions and faculties, if the commission accepts that the draft of the collective agreement is approved by the representatives of the subdivisions and faculties, the Employer – YSU Rector Aram Simonyan and representative of the employees - President of YSU Trade Union Organization Armen Avetisyan will sign the Third Collective Agreement.
