President of YSU Student Council Hamlet Manukyan made a report. This training was unusual and unique for the students of Alma Mater; the lecturers were officers, and there was a special ceremony of greeting. YSU and Military Academy after V. Sargsyan of the Ministry of Defense of the RA have launched a project of collaboration.
600 students from YSU will participate in the first stage of the project, which is going to be held from the 19th of February to 30th of June. The protection of our country is not only the duty of army but is the duty of everybody. That will not bring honor to the student of Alma Mater if he joins the army without main knowledge of military preparation, - said Arsen Karamyan, Vice-rector on Students, Alumni and Public Affairs of YSU.
Our students were instructed how to use the sub-machine gun Kalashnikov. They also learnt the key rules of shooting on a target. Only after this preparation they will start to practice on training automats.
By the end of the project 4-day training gathering in conditions close to army will be organized for YSU students at the Balahovit shooting-range. There will be held a contest between the platoons. The girls will also take part in it, - said Arsen Karamyan. He added that a virtual shooting-range will be launched in YSU owing to support of Military Academy after V. Sargsyan.
Vahe Poghosyan, a student of the Faculty of Romance-Germanic Philology is very interested in this course. The explanations were easily understood and we got new and useful knowledge. I guess I will attend with great pleasure up to the end.
The shooting preparations will be accompanied by a course of lectures for the students of MA. Sport and cultural events are also included in the program. The students of MA will take part in this events with great pleasure, as their everyday life is not full of various events, - said Colonel Albert Galstyan, Head of the All-army Faculty.
In the end of the joint program, organized by YSU and MA, a gala concert with the participation of the students from both institutions of higher education is expected.
