These words, expressed by the Dean of the Faculty of Theology of Yerevan State University Bishop Anoushavan Zhamkochyan opened the event, devoted to the 15th anniversary of the faculty foundation.
Both, theologians and invitees, had some more reasons for the meeting: presentation of several books (two of them student manuals), as well as the opening of a new audience and students baptism.
In the beginning two newly published books were presented: Blooming Meadow by Moses Jughayetsi (publisher of the manuscript became the dean of the Faculty of Theology of Yerevan State University, Bishop Anoushavan Zhamkochyan), The Origin and Development of the Armenian Calendar (author - Head of Chair of History of the Armenian Church Levon Sargsyan), the book authored by Bishop Anoushavan Zhamkochyan Key provisions of the law of the Armenian Church in 4-20 centuries and collections of scientific articles Taregirk and Armenian theologian.
15 years old faculty makes every effort to show its scientific potential, annually publishing collections of scientific articles and selected researches,-said the Bishop Anoushavan Zhamkochyan.
When we were founding the faculty, one of the most commonly faced problems was the lack of special literature. These years have proven that everything is done very well, and the results are obvious,-said the Rector of Yerevan State University Aram Simonyan, referring to the publication of the books.
According to YSU Faculty of Theology Student Council Chairman Anna Marmaryan these scientific collections are long expected and important in the sense that students can use them as bases for their research papers.
Then the red ribbon, cut by Yerevan State University Rector and member of the Board of Trustees of the Beneficiary Foundation Pyunik Levon Sargsyan, marked the opening of a new computer audience named after Catholicos Vazgen the First. The audience is equipped with appropriate technology and equipment.
And finally theologians and the guests went to the St. Grigor Lusavorich Church, where 9 students had to be baptized. This tradition for freshmen and sophomores has started long ago. At the request of students, faculty lecturers become their godfathers.
