Following positive feedback from the first training and growing demand for courses on the EU and Armenia, on February 25-25, 2026, the Centre for European Studies in cooperation with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation organised the second training on "Introduction to the European Union from a Legal perspective" for civil servants. The training was part of YSU's "Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence in European Studies: Democracy, Human Rights, and Security" (DeHuRiS101177115) project.
During the two-day course, participants examined fundamental issues concerning the partnership between Armenia and the European Union, as well as the legal and structural framework of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which holds strategic significance both for the EU and Armenia.
Key topics of the training included sessions on legal nature and aims of the EU, its institutions and Decision-making, touched upon reforms in the fields of justice, human rights, governance, and economic development, as part of Armenia's commitments within the framework of the Eastern Partnership. The program presented mechanisms for more effective decision-making in the public administration system, as well as foreign policy actions aimed at deepening cooperation between the parties and ensuring more efficient implementation of obligations. Participants also explored the role of Armenia in EU external relations.
