Within the framework of cooperation between YSU's "Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence in European Studies: Democracy, Human Rights, and Security" (DeHuRiS101177115) project and Konrad Adenauer Foundation, a training program titled " "Introduction to the European Union from a Legal perspective" was held for civil servants on December 11–12 , 2025
During the two-day course, participants examined fundamental issues concerning the partnership between Armenia and the European Union, as well as the legal and structural framework of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which holds strategic significance both for the EU and Armenia.
Key topics of the training included sessions on legal nature and aims of the EU, EU institutions and Decision-making, touched upon reforms in the fields of justice, human rights, governance, and economic development, as part of Armenia's commitments within the framework of the Eastern Partnership. The program presented mechanisms for more effective decision-making in the public administration system, as well as foreign policy actions aimed at deepening cooperation between the parties and ensuring more efficient implementation of obligations. Participants also explored the role of Armenia in EU external relations.
The training was conducted by Dr Artak Asatryan, Chair of European and international Law at YSU; Mr. Sergey Ghazinyan, legal expert at the Centre for European Studies; Dr. Arusyak Aleksanyan, Head of Research at the Centre for European Studies
The training was attended by employees from 17 state bodies. Similar events dedicated to issues of EU-Armenia cooperation are planned to continue in 2026.
