On July 28-August 1 the centre for European Studies organised first summer school on EU Neighbourhood: History, Policy and Security within the frames of DeHuRiS project. The school brought together students, young scholars, researchers, and experts for five days of intense discussions, knowledge exchange, and academic networking
Throughout the event , 12 participants from Armenia, Georgia, Lebanon, Russia and Ghana explored a wide range of topics, including EU's history, foreign policy, regional security dynamics in the South Caucasus, and Armenia’s evolving position within its neighborhood.
The following experts were involved in the School:
- Kristine Gevorgyan, DeHuRiS project Coordinator, who started the school with brief overview of the history , origins of the idea of Europe, etc. She also oversaw the Assignment that was presented at the end of the School.
- Suren Tadevosyan, who provided in-depth analysis of the EU’s external relations and its role as a global actor in the 21st century.
- Narek Sukiasyan, who focused on Armenia’s foreign and security policy and its strategic partnerships with the EU and the US, especially in the post-2020 regional order.
- Nino Lapiashvili, who offered a comprehensive introduction to the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy and its external competences.
The school featured lectures, group work sessions, collaborative assignments, and engaging presentations by the participants themselves, culminating in a certificate ceremony and networking moments that extended beyond the classroom.
