At the initiative of the YSU Faculty of Oriental Studies, the international workshop titled "Premodern Muslim Perspectives on Dīn (Religion)" will be held from August 26 to 28, 2026.
The workshop explores the concept of dīn (broadly understood as religion) in the premodern period and its uses across different Arab-Islamic epistemic traditions. Discussions will focus on the understanding, conceptualization and definition of dīn in socio-political, theological, legal, philosophical and literary contexts.
