following their future professional activities,

3. Educational outcomes of the programme
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- to present the modern points of view and principles of Western European and American literary studies, to classify the current directions,
- to present the modern litetrary points and principles of Western European and American literary studies,
- to describe the main content of the development of literary-aesthetic thought, to understand the historical values and patterns of literary-aesthetic systems,
- to describe the main concepts of the history and theory of Western European and American literature, to justify the relations of Western European and American literature with history, philosophy, linguistics, psychology, religion, mythology, and other humanistic sciences and arts,
- to define the place of literary studies in the paradigm of modern culture,
- to reproduce the country's social-political, historical-cultural development features and national identity issues in the context of national literature.
- to evaluate literary works and realities from the point of view of modern literary thought,
- to practically carry out literary studies and research, as well as literary debates and discussions,
- to compare Western European and American literary realities and works, to reveal their commonalities and abilities,
