On September 22, the YSU Chair of Arabic Studies hosted a meeting with Dr Suhaila M. Al-Jubouri, a representative of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in the Republic of Armenia.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for deepening academic, scientific and cultural cooperation between the YSU Chair of Arabic Studies and leading higher education institutions in Iraq. Particular attention was given to organizing joint educational and cultural events, developing faculty and student exchange programs, and other areas of mutual interest.
One of the key topics of discussion was the participation of students from the YSU Chair of Arabic Studies in the "Study in Iraq" educational program initiated by the Iraqi government. Under the agreements reached, 10 study places are expected to be allocated to Armenian students, providing them with an exceptional opportunity to continue their studies at Iraqi universities, improve their Arabic language skills and gain first-hand experience of the country's rich culture, history and academic environment.
The Chair of Arabic Studies attaches importance to strengthening ties with international partners, as such cooperation significantly contributes to enhancing the professional training of future Arabists and the effectiveness of the educational process.
