1. Admission criteria/requirements
Admission is carried out according to the "Regulation of admission to RA state and non-state higher educational institutions (according to Bachelor's and continuing and integrated educational programs)".
Admission is carried out through the following exams:

2. Programme Objectives
The program aims to:
· to train specialists who will have a fundamental knowledge of Caucasian studies, Caucasian civilization, current developments in the region, theories and methodology surrounding them, modern research methods and tools, will be competitive in the Armenian and international scientific and educational fields, will have the skills to perform scientific research and pedagogical work, and will also be oriented administrative and socio-political activities.
· To form in the student the necessary qualities of administrative and social-political activity.
· to train specialists who will have a fundamental knowledge of Caucasian studies, Caucasian civilization, current developments in the region, theories and methodology surrounding them, modern research methods and tools, will be competitive in the Armenian and international scientific and educational fields, will have the skills to perform scientific research and pedagogical work, and will also be oriented administrative and socio-political activities.
· To form in the student the necessary qualities of administrative and social-political activity.
3. Educational outcomes of the programme
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- To present the issues of Caucasian studies, ethnic history, and historical-cultural heritage of the Caucasus.
- To examine the facts of the Armenian cultural presence in the region and the contribution it has brought to the complex studies of Caucasian studies.
- To reveal the common historical processes of different Caucasian countries, the phenomena of their interaction and complementarity.
- To study the peculiarities of historical processes and phenomena unfolded in the region.
- To classify the main sources of Caucasian studies.
- To coordinate the manifestations of awareness and expression of the ethnic and cultural identity of the Caucasus.
- To explain the problems and methods of pedagogy, to explain the peculiarities of teaching history (in case of applying for the qualification of a teacher).
- To apply the modern methodology of analysis of historical sources.
- To read and interpret the Georgian and Azerbaijani originals.
- To characterize the features of political processes, to highlight the main aspects of the activities of social classes and individuals.
- To apply professional knowledge in different fields of work and public discourses.
- To respond to the challenges of modern Caucasian studies, to analyze the facts and realities, and to make generalizations and theoretical conclusions.
- To formulate and solve problems, to apply knowledge in practice, to build logical and clear oral and written speech.
- To prepare and present abstracts, reports, and final works on the topics of Caucasian studies.
- To demonstrate pedagogical skills, to apply history teaching methods (in the case of applying for the qualification of a pedagogue).
- To formulate scientific topics, conduct research, conduct interviews, compile questionnaires, decipher and analyze the collected materials.
- To communicate, read, interpret, and translate scientific texts written in native and foreign languages.
- To carry out research in modern ways and methodology.
- To have knowledge in emergencies and provide first aid if necessary.
4. Assessment methods
Based on the workload of the courses (educational modules) provided by the curriculum of the educational program, the form of training, teaching methods, and taking into account the degree of importance of the course in the formation of professional knowledge and abilities of the student, the courses are divided into 4 groups according to the evaluation form:
a) with the final assessment,
b) without final assessment,
c) without mid-term assessment,
d) check-up
Accordingly, the evaluation components of the given course and the points allocated to them are chosen by the teaching professor and approved by the Chair. The forms of conducting assessments and examinations are indicated in the specification of the given educational program, in the course summary.
At the end of the program, students submit a thesis for defense.

5. Graduates future career opportunities
Graduates of the "Caucasus Studies" Bachelor's educational program can get a job in the Institutes of Oriental Studies, History, Archeology, and Ethnography of the RA National Academy of Sciences, Matenadaran named after Mesrop Mashtots, as well as YSU Institute of Armenian Studies, travel agencies, museums, as well as in various government departments, ministries, in governorates, municipalities and elsewhere.
Following the regulations for awarding qualification of a pedagogue to undergraduate graduates in YSU, upon successful participation in the pedagogic additional educational block voluntarily courses with a volume of 30 credits, the graduates of the "Caucasus Studies" educational program will also be given the qualification of a history teacher, which will allow them to work in primary and high schools of the Republic of Armenia, as well as in secondary vocational educational institutions.

Organization of lectures through computer presentations, provision of printed and electronic materials download of course-related materials on relevant university platforms, use of audio-visual films, organization of lectures and cognitive visits, and seminar discussions in ministries.
7. Educational standards or programme benchmarks used for programme development
The "Caucasus Studies" bachelor's program was developed with the orientation of promoting the study of the Caucasus countries, which are of primary importance for the Republic of Armenia, in our country.
While developing the "Caucasus Studies" Bachelor's program, the similar educational programs of the scientific and educational centers of Georgia and the North Caucasus were taken into account, guided by international standards and norms.
When developing the program, the characteristics presented for the 6th level of the RA National Framework of Qualifications, the "Management Manual for the Development of YSU Educational Programs" prepared by the YSU Quality Assurance Center, the "Guide for filling out the Educational Program Specification and Course Descriptors" were adopted and used as a basis. "Development of industrial courses and educational programs, lecturer's manual" (ed.: A. Budaghyan, A. Grigoryan) and other materials.
