Career opportunities
The programme is implemented in collaboration with the Public Television Company of Armenia, making it unique in terms of content, organization, learning outcomes, and expectations.
Graduates will acquire essential and desirable skills in researching stories, proposing, developing, and implementing ideas, conducting interviews, and presenting audiovisual content effectively, which are in high demand in media communication, mass media, and particularly in television. Upon completion, graduates will have competitive and visible opportunities to work in television companies and online media outlets producing audiovisual content.
They can work in various editorial teams of television channels in Armenia (both in regions and in the capital), as well as online media with active video content departments. Professional skills for both on-camera and off-camera work will also guide those seeking employment in the Armenian Government, National Assembly, ministries’ communications and public relations divisions, and elsewhere.
Knowledge of practical television skills and industry best practices will support graduates in advertising and social media marketing (SMM) roles, particularly in developing audiovisual content, scriptwriting, producing short videos, and managing production processes. Research skills will help graduates adopt a systematic approach to audiovisual production, enabling them to produce high-quality and engaging video content for traditional and online audiences, manage production processes, demonstrate creative leadership, track industry trends, value evidence-based decisions, and assess team needs.
Online media platforms can also serve as a professional space for graduates. The acquired audiovisual production skills will allow them to create and deliver high-quality alternative content, including original projects with new ideas and distinctive style.
The program simultaneously develops fundamental qualities of digital leadership, such as initiative, strategic thinking, and effective communication skills in digital environments. In this way, learners become prepared not only to create projects but also to lead them, becoming reliable and influential actors in the formation, development, and management of contemporary media platforms
Professional internship
During the two semesters, students will gain hands-on experience in pre-production, production, and post-production activities through courses held in television editorial offices and studios, including the Faculty of Journalism, the Public Television Company of Armenia, leading TV channels, and online media with rich video content.
Internships are organized in television companies and online media outlets and are continuous. Lecturers, together with media professionals, involve students in practical tasks, encouraging extracurricular learning and self-education. Students participate in topic selection, fact-checking, interviews, recording, filming, and editing. They also take part in developing implementation strategies and managing processes, supporting editorial staff with evidence-based work.
Using knowledge and skills in mobile journalism, students will independently shoot and edit videos using editing software while gaining experience in online audiovisual production and multimedia storytelling. Students will also learn from industry best practices through masterclasses, combining this knowledge with hands-on experience, developing the intuition and determination to continue improving their work and create a unique professional signature.
