1. Admission criteria/requirements
ADMISSION CRITERIA/REQUIREMENTS
Admission to the Bachelor's degree program is carried out according to the relevant procedure approved by the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
Entrance exams: Armenian language (written), foreign language (written).
2. Programme Objectives
AIMS OF THE PROGRAM
The program aims to train specialists in philosophy, logic, and ethics, who will work in education, science, and civil society as teachers, analysts, and consultants, and will be able to continue their education and specialize in philosophy, logic, and ethics.
3. Educational outcomes of the programme

Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:

    1. To present philosophy, its main concepts, and functions.
    2. To describe the fields of application of philosophical knowledge
    3. To interpret different philosophical directions, modern problems, and concepts of philosophy.
    4. To present the structure of the social system and the main patterns of development.
    5. To explain the main stages of world development and Armenian philosophical thought.
    6. To explain the socio-cultural consequences of the development of science.
    7. To clarify the fundamental and private principles of logical regularity of thinking.
    8. To explain the main stages and methods of the cognitive process.
    9. To clarify the key principles and values underlying national identity and public relations.
    1. To analyze philosophical issues and concepts, their features, and practical aspects.
    2. To distinguish regular connections of phenomena from coincidences and to make philosophical generalizations.
    3. To apply philosophical knowledge and methods during the study of general cognitive and private scientific problems.
    4. To perform analytical-logical operations of generalization of facts and specification of philosophical propositions.
    5. To conduct practical discussions and debates, demonstrating a proper culture of logic, eloquence, and argumentation.
    6. To demonstrate critical and creative thinking when analyzing professional issues and current events.
    7. To present and interpret information, arguments, and ideas related to philosophy.
    8. To apply philosophical knowledge to justify one's position.
    1. To use various sources of information to get acquainted with the latest developments in philosophical thought.
    2. To conduct debates while maintaining the norms of regular thinking and professional ethics.
    3. To use foreign language sources and literature on philosophical issues.
    4. To demonstrate proper skills in clearly stating and presenting one's positions and points of view.
    5. To demonstrate the necessary abilities for the continuous development of professional knowledge and qualities.
4. Assessment methods
ASSESSMENT
At YSU, there is a multi-factor system of periodic verification and evaluation of student's knowledge, which includes the following components:
1. assessment of mastering the sub-sections of the course (academic module) during the semester (2 mid-term exams),
2. mid-term check-ups of individual topics of the course (academic module) during the semester,
3. verification and assessment of the implementation and assimilation of independent tasks provided by the program during the semester (independent work),
4. evaluation of independent and/or group research planned by the program during the semester (research that replaces any of the mid-term exams),
5. evaluation of participation in the course (participation),
6. final evaluation of the entire course (academic module) in the exam period, which implies an evaluation of the level of achievement of the educational outcomes set for the course.
Based on the workload of the courses (academic modules) provided by the curriculum of the educational program, the form of training, and teaching methods in the formation of the student's professional knowledge and abilities, the courses are divided into 4 groups according to the evaluation form:
1. with the final assessment,
2. without final assessment,
3. Without evaluation of mid-term exams,
4. check-ups.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Graduates of the "Philosophy" program can work in institutions operating in the scientific research, educational and pedagogical, media, and book publishing sectors, occupying the following positions:
Research institutes-junior researchers.
Educational and pedagogical institutions- teachers of social studies
Mass media-television editors, public relations consultants, advertising agents, journalist-publicists.
Publishing- editors, scripters, clerks.
Possible workplaces are:
·Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology of YSU,
·Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia
·various universities and secondary vocational institutions,
·high and primary schools,
·publishing houses and editorial offices, for example, "Tigran the Great", "Antares", etc.
·international organizations implementing educational and social programs, for example, the Armenian branch of the international organization "Project Harmony", "The Armenian branch of the International Republican Institute" ("IRI Armenian Branch"), etc.
·Community and republican public organizations, for example, "Armenian Philosophical Academy" NGO, "Republican Confederation of Trade Unions" NGO, "Mantashyants" Businessmen's Union, "Ethics School" NGO, etc.
Graduates of the program can continue their studies at the YSU Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology's Master's degree, and later at the post-graduate studies.

6. Resources and forms to support learning
RESOURCES AND ASSISTANCE FORMS TO SUPPORT LEARNING
Various resources are available to support learning: modern professional literature (Armenian, Russian, and English) acquired through the personal funds of professors and within the framework of grant programs.
Faculty teaching staff uses innovative teaching and learning methods: debates, small group work, research assignments, and museum visits, which contribute to the achievement of the educational outcomes of the program.
The following auxiliary resources are also used in the learning process:
Auditoriums equipped with modern appliances and software, YSU library, faculty-reading room, and electronic resources.

EDUCATIONAL STANDARDS OR PROGRAMME BENCHMARKS USED FOR PROGRAMME DEVELOPMENT
· The national framework of qualifications of the Republic of Armenia (Decision No. 714-Ն of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, 07.07.16.),
. Characteristics of the framework of "Philosophy" sectoral qualifications (Decree N 2197/ A-2 of the ESCS Minister Republic of Armenia, 29.11.22.),
· the European Framework of Higher Education Qualifications ("Dublin Descriptors"),
as well as a number of international program orientations, in particular, Philosophy degree programs at M. Lomonosov Moscow State University, St. Petersburg State University, and the University of Arizona.

REQUIREMENTS FOR TEACHING STAFF
1. General Abilities
Teaching and psycho-pedagogical
· Knowledge of student-centered methodology and the ability to apply it in the process of developing and implementing courses,
· ability to use interactive teaching and learning methods,
· the ability to support, motivate, and encourage the development of the student's strengths,
Research
· Knowledge of research methodology,
· the ability to work with various scientific sources (including Internet), to use information resources,
Communication
· ability to verbally communicate and manage the audience,
Basic skills of rhetoric
· interpersonal communication skills,
. knowledge of a foreign language,
ICT application
· basic computer skills (fluent command of MS Office package: Word, Excel, Power-Point),
· the ability to use modern social platforms,
· Skills to prepare and present presentations (pptx, prezi, canva, etc.).
Other abilities
· time management ability,
· conflict resolution and cooperation skills
2. Professional knowledge and abilities
· Knowledge of the main methodological principles, fundamental and modern theories, concepts, and modern trends of philosophy,
· ability to understand, analyze, and interpret problems related to fundamental and applied fields of philosophy,
· Knowledge of ethical principles of professional activity (research and practical) and mandatory observance.
3. General requirements
Professional requirements
· Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree in philosophy or subject taught
· availability of at least 1 scientific and/or methodological publication in the last 5 years,
· participation in local or international trainings and/or professional qualification improvement courses during the last 5 years.
Pedagogical experience
· at least 3 years of experience in teaching professional courses and/or conducting trainings.
Other requirements
. the average of grades obtained by the results of the student survey: at least 4.0 (for teaching professors).
