The admission is carried out following the Yerevan State University Master's degree admission regulations.
For those with Bachelor’s degrees in the same specialty, admission is held without exams, and applicants with related professions take an exam.

2. Programme Objectives
· to provide students with deep and fundamental knowledge of theoretical and methodological issues related to the history of the Russian language and Russian literature,
· to clarify the views of the main scientific schools on various linguistic and literary problems,
· to apply interdisciplinary knowledge in conducting scientific and/or pedagogical activities in the Russian language, history of Russian literature, as well as related philological fields

3. Educational outcomes of the programme
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- • to present the current issues of the Russian language, Russian literature, and related philological fields
- • to cover theoretical issues related to Russian and Russian literature
- • to describe the concepts and methods of the main literary and linguistic schools of the 19th and 20th centuries
- • to present the relationship of Russian linguistics and Russian literature of different eras with European linguistics and literature
- • to explain the logic and mechanisms of the origin and development of linguistic and literary directions, as well as their alternation
- • to explain the historical development of major literary genres and literary trends, as well as various theories of the Russian language
- • to present the norms of scientific ethics
- • to apply the knowledge gained from the Russian language and Russian literature and related linguistic and literary fields
- • to combine the concepts of linguistic and literary schools and apply them in future research and pedagogical work
- • to cover the main trends of the modern Russian language and Russian literature
- • to summarize and coordinate the main trends of modern studies related to the Russian language and Russian literature
- • to interpret the process of the historical development of the Russian language and Russian literature with its stages and genre preferences
- • to analyze works of art from different eras and genres and their linguistic perspectives
- • to use various sources of information (Internet, electronic libraries, scientific articles)
- • to analyze existing problems and estimate the resources needed to solve them
- • to creatively apply acquired knowledge, perceive and disseminate new ones

· availability of at least 3 scientific and/or methodological publications in the last 5 years,
· at least 3 participations in conferences and/or workshops in the last 5 years.
Pedagogical experience
· at least 3 years of experience in teaching professional courses,
· during the last 5 years, participation in trainings or professional qualification improvement courses.
Practical experience
· at least 3 years of work experience in the field of teaching the Russian language or Russian literature.
Other requirements
the average of grades obtained by the student survey results: at least 4.0 (for teaching professors).
