Social Work is an integrative, practice-based profession that promotes social change, development, social cohesion, and the empowerment of individuals and communities.
Admission Requirements
Applicants are required to take entrance examinations in Armenian Language and Literature; Foreign Language or Biology.
Programme Advantages
Within the programme framework, students study courses through which they acquire knowledge and practical skills in identifying social issues, assessing the needs of vulnerable groups, supporting individuals, groups, families, and communities in need, developing intervention plans, conducting social case management, providing social counselling, carrying out advocacy and lobbying for the protection of human rights, as well as implementing professional supervision.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of the Bachelor’s Programme in Social Work have the opportunity to work in various sectors, including governmental, local, and international non-governmental organizations, holding positions such as social worker; case manager; developer and evaluator of social programmes; and supervisor.
Graduates of the programme may continue their studies in the Master’s Programme in Social Work and Social Policy at the Faculty of Sociology of Yerevan State University, as well as in other related academic programmes.
