The Faculty of International Relations at Yerevan State University hosted Nilakshi Saha Sinha, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Republic of Armenia.
In his welcoming remarks, Dean of the faculty, PhD in History and Associate Professor Tigran Yepremyan, emphasized the strategic significance of Armenia-India relations. He noted that human connections between the Armenian Highland and the Indian subcontinent are as ancient as history itself. The dean further underlined the importance of understanding the question, "Why Bharat Matters", in the context of the current global order.

During her meeting with the faculty members and students, Ambassador Nilakshi Saha Sinha reflected on the centuries-old Armenian-Indian fraternal ties, rooted in shared interests and common Indo-European values. She highlighted the fact that in recent years, political, economic, and military cooperation between the two countries has further developed.

The ambassador also spoke about India's strategic outlook and foreign policy priorities, emphasizing the core principles underpinning its strategic vision. In this context, she underscored India’s role as a leader of the Global South in the international system and outlined the main directions through which India aims to position itself as one of the key centers of a multipolar world.
In her address, the ambassador also referred to the recent terrorist attacks in the Jammu and Kashmir region, stating that while India does not seek escalation and is committed to resolving the conflict through purely diplomatic means, the terrorist acts did not go unanswered. She noted that an appropriate response was delivered in accordance with international law.
The meeting took place in an open and engaging atmosphere, with an active question-and-answer session and an exchange of views on current challenges.
