Within the framework of the winter school organized by the YSU Faculty of International Relations, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia and Chairman of the YSU Board of Trustees, Suren Papikyan, met with students.
The minister delivered a lecture titled "New Resources for Armenia's Security Resilience in the Transforming World". Suren Papikyan spoke about the current challenges in Armenia's security environment, the impact of regional and global geopolitical developments on the national security system, as well as the new resources and opportunities emerging amid the transformation of international relations.
In particular, discussions covered the ongoing reforms in the defense sector, the priorities of modernization and capability development of the armed forces, contemporary approaches to strategic planning, and the importance of expanding multi-vector cooperation and international partnerships. The role of stable state institutions, social cohesion, and the development of the military-industrial potential as key components of security resilience was also presented.
The meeting concluded with a question-and-answer session, during which students had the opportunity to address their questions to the minister and receive professional clarifications on the topics discussed.
