The “Zoology and Parasitology” master’s program consists of two main components: educational and research. Tasks within each component are carried out proportionally between the educational and research parts.

Program Objectives
The goal of the “Zoology and Parasitology” master’s program is to train specialists with deep theoretical and practical knowledge in zoology and parasitology. Graduates will:
- Master modern field and laboratory research methods.
- Be able to apply acquired knowledge effectively in professional environments in Armenia and abroad, following contemporary standards.
Program Advantages
- The program includes general, mandatory professional, and elective courses taught using modern teaching methods.
- Graduates will gain fundamental knowledge about invertebrate and vertebrate diversity in Armenia, ecology, evolution, cell genetics, and genetics.
- Students will gain practical experience in studying infectious diseases in reptiles, birds, and several mammals, including identifying pathogens and transmission pathways—topics increasingly relevant due to climate change.
- The program equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary for wildlife conservation and biosecurity challenges.
- Students will learn to apply both traditional and advanced zoological and parasitological research methods, including microscopy, cell genetics, genetics, ecological modeling, statistics, and other applied methods, as well as work with modern equipment.

- Local and international organizations involved in wildlife resource assessment, conservation, restoration, and sustainable use
- Various departments of the Ministry of Environment
- Secondary and higher education institutions
Graduates may also continue their studies in the PhD program at the YSU Chair of Zoology.
