YSU has significant role in the student's successes – Gagik Ekmalyan

The 2023 competition for providing nominal scholarships to students with the best progress of RA universities had definite criteria, based on which the students with the best progress in various fields were determined. Students' academic progress and authored articles, which were published in both local and international authoritative journals, were taken into account. Importance is given to their participation (reporting) in conferences and inclusion in student autonomous institutes.

Gagik Ekmalyan talked about his student life, his specialization in the field of international relations and conducting diplomatic activities.

Enrollment in student institutes as a public benefit activity:  Gagik Ekmalyan, a second-year master's student, was included in the staff of "Strategic and Security Research Center" established by the students' initiative, within the framework of which he was engaged in the analysis of Armenia's external challenges, research of the security environment, and also studied geopolitical processes and their possible impact on Armenia.

"At the center, we have conducted a lot of research and tried to raise all the existing challenges both at the regional and global levels. To make it available for the public, we have also published these studies on electronic platforms," he said.

Student's research work in an international periodical:  Gagik Ekmalyan is the author of a number of articles, two of which were published in the Scientific-analytical journal "Region and World". In his articles, he presented challenges related to Armenia's foreign policy, existing problems and possible solutions.

YSU has a significant role in the student's successes: Gagik Ekmalyan is sure that YSU, being the best Armenian university, has a significant role in the development of each student as a specialist.

"I particularly emphasize the role of the Faculty of International Relations in establishing experienced personnel, especially in the diplomatic sphere. Many of the faculty's graduates join the ranks of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs, protecting the interests of the homeland in the diplomatic sphere," Gagik Ekmalyan emphasized.

Combining study and work, the ways to protect the interests of the motherland are indicated: Along with studying at YSU, Gagik Yekmalyan works in the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs and continues to specialize in the field of diplomacy. "At this moment, I see directions where I can contribute to protect the interests of Armenia in this complex geopolitical situation. If we distinctly formulate our foreign policy goals and commit to their protection, a positive result will be recorded continuously. First of all, the society needs security, and the success recorded in the field of foreign policy is one of the main components of the process of ensuring the security of the society."

It should be noted that Gagik Ekmalyan is one of the seven YSU students who took prize places in the 2023 competition for providing nominal scholarships to students with the best progress in RA universities.

One of the goals of the competition is to contribute to the improvement of students' progress, to promote competition among students and to identify and encourage the students with high progress.
